Flanking two sides of the ground floor; ‘La Veranda’ is situated on a Fifth Avenue north; a lovely tree-shaded property that affords both privacy and accessibility. Our spacious and comfortable suites reflect the care and attention that characterize our inn. Each room is a multi-room suite: bedroom, living room and bathroom with its own private entrance.
The house was built in the 1920’s and has enjoyed 100 years of eclectic quests. If you do not know "the sunshine city” of St. Petersburg, Florida; you must come stay with us and find out for yourself.
St. Petersburg combines small town charm with big city amenities.
The city itself is remarkable for its sense of place and time, as well. Downtown St. Petersburg is as uncluttered and quiet as a small town, yet alive with wonderful restaurants, shops, museums, theaters, and other entertainment. A short stroll from La Veranda will take you to the waterfront parks that give the city its charm. St. Petersburg has maintained the entire downtown waterfront, some seven miles in all, for the use of residents and visitors alike. Parks, marinas, and "The Pier", combine with the commercial establishments to provide lots to do downtown.
Year 'round there are special events like "Taste of Pinellas" and "Ribfest" that bring good food and music, in abundance, to the downtown bayfront. Concerts, art shows, and even motor racing add to the excitement of this beautiful waterfront setting. All just a few short blocks from your suite at La Veranda.
La Veranda is in St. Pete’s Historical Register; the property is probably the longest continuing small "hotel", dating back to the 1920's when it was a hotel, then boarding house, and now our Bed and Breakfast accommodation. Below are some historical pictures of our past from the 1940’s.
